I'm curious because I've done something similar. Many years ago, I walked out of a performance of The Taming of the Shrew during intermission, because I didn't want to watch the Stockholm syndrome part.
It was more like performance art; at this free theatre festival we have here at the moment. I only saw the right half, because I was a few minutes late and therefore could only get a place very far to the left, so that the left side of the stage was invisible to me. *g*
