hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (lol suicide)

So... I decided to use my non-awesome icon making powers to make a 'happy ending pastede on yay!' icon today, because, hey, I only have four anti-2.08 icons and that's clearly not enough. ;-)

Well. Obviously that requires opening the dread LoM 2.08 file to make screencaps. And, I really shouldn't tell people this, because it marks me as Severely Disturbed, but... just frelling clicking on the file made me nauseous. Actual, literal physical reaction. (Not really bad nausea, mind you - but, still disturbing enough.)

WTF, body? WTF, *brain*?!

Actually, I have that exact same reaction : /. I just can't watch it, and even scene flicking is impossible :(

hi there, visitor from [livejournal.com profile] jumping_off. I'm new to Life On Mars but experienced major drama in my fandom with a character death this year...I still get anxiety and brick-in-gut thinking or talking about the current season, and yet I hang around communities and chat with people who still watch. It's that thin line between love and hate, y'know? Can't have the highs without the lows. If we were indifferent to tv shows and such we probably wouldn't be here on Livejournal. So yeah, totally relate.

I am so relieved to hear that.

It's an awful feeling, isn't it? ((((ping_bagels))))

BTW - I was going to start reading your current ongoing fic today but then stopped because I seemed to remember that you had the third part almost ready a while ago or something? 'Cause I'd prefer to read it in one piece. Do I remember that correctly? Basically... if you're almost done with it, I'd wait, but if it'll take a while yet I'll read what's there now.

Hey there!

Always nice to 'see a new face' here! :)

So... you say you're new to LoM - does that mean you're new to the show or new to the fandom? (And if the former, what the heck were you doing in a spoilery community such as [livejournal.com profile] jumping_off?! ;-))

That's why I can't watch the last ep. Also because I know I'm going to be angry again, as well. The videos are sitting at the end of my bed (nay, sliding down it, lol), but have I picked the second one up and put it in the video player? Have I buggery.

I like your pastede on yey icon :)

Yeah - I've been rewatching S2 with a friend...

but I already warned her she'll have to watch the last one on her own.

Glad you like the icon! Feel free to use, if you'd like an anti-2.08 icon. *g* It was made in about 5 minutes because I couldn't bear spending any more time looking at those images.

I'm still working my way through Season 2 of LoM...in the US where I live it just made it to BBC America last month, and I can't be bothered with *illegal downloads*. There was a long gap between S1 and S2 and I let myself get spoiled along the way. Then in September I joined LJ and found out LoM has a terrific fandom, not too big, full of smart and literate people. A little slashier than what I'm used to but hey...I don't mind being spoiled, I'm already prepared to hate *the ending*.

Saw in your profile that you are in American Studies? I also have a degree in American Studies. Are you familiar with David Noble? He's a fairly well known professor in that field...I T.A.'d for him when I was a graduate student, 100 years ago, here at the U. of Minnesota. It makes so much sense that two people from the US and Germany with interests in American culture would meet over a British tv show, eh? Small world.

Nice chatting with you. :)

I am still working on chapter three (the conclusion) of 'In Sync' and I'm hoping to have it finished very soon. Unfortunately, my brain is currently being eaten by a huge, plotty, stupid, research-heavy monster of a Pirate of the Caribbean AU fic that no one in their right mind is going to read. Oh well :/

BTW, your icon is perfect, LOL :D

I had this reaction just before watching the Ashes to Ashes trailer. And then it went away as I went, "ooh, shiny". But that could be saying something about the depth of my personality.

I can't rewatch 2.08 without getting angry. I just can't. There are too many crap scenes. In a show that previously had - what, one? Two? Mostly it was all amazing. And then we get MELODRAMA. It annoys me. It annoyed me then, it continues to annoy me now.

(It also has some GREAT scenes, of course. The shootout in the train was properly amazing and so hard to shoot. Lovely, lovely work.)

But, yes. I have had a physical reaction to fiction before.

Thankies, I am indeed gonna swipe it *g* (aside from the fact that it gave me a giggle because of what it's about, variants of the "pastede on yey" amuse me anyway. Heh. Evidently I am easily amused).

I haven't even been able to watch much of S2, even, so you're doing better than me.
