hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)
How did that happen?!

Bought a Japanese tea bowl today and noticed, wait a minute, I'm beginning to have a *lot* of stuff like this! 'Stuff like this' being china decorated mostly in blue and white; mostly tea cups, mugs, and bowls; some antiques (though none that are very valuable); some by a modern designer; some cheap but pretty.

So, in the spirit of newly-discovered collectorhood, I went and searched the web for a replacement lid for the 1950s tea/coffeepot I inherited from my grandma (along with three more or less complete sets of 1950s china - so, technically, I'm not *ever* going to have to buy any china of my own, probably. Thankfully my grandma's taste in china is largely compatible with my own; most of her china is even blue and white! I'm all for reusing old stuff, but it's always more fun to do so when the old stuff is actually quite pretty. :-)

Ach ja, falls jemand von den Deutschen hier zufälligerweise sowas auf dem Dachboden rumfliegen haben sollte: der Deckel, den ich suche, gehört zu einer Kaffeekanne der Arzberg Form 1495, mit diesem Muster.

I'll get around to replying to the comments of my previous several entries soon, I promise. The thesis kind of demolished me and I spent most of the last several days sleeping or vegging out watching kitten cams and playing online Tetris. I *should* be working, but somehow there's not enough energy yet. I feel kinda depleted.
