More silly fictitious sports
Aug. 19th, 2004 12:28 amWhat is it about genre entertainment and silly sports? Just a few days ago, there was the 'Nikopol Trilogy' and chess boxing. Well... I've just discovered a contender: 'The Prisoner''s pseudo martial art Kosho. - Imagine two men in long, bright red robes, wearing silly helmets and gloves and jumping up and down on trampolines trying to push each other into a small tub of water... Actually, in terms of sheer silliness, it beats chess boxing by several lengths - all the more so because they seem to be dead serious about it.
Here's a pic. Not a very good one, but it's the only one I could find: http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/~bspooner/Prisoner/HAMMER-KOSHO.jpg
You know... both chess boxing and kosho rather remind me of this cartoon by recently deceased German cartoonist Bernd Pfarr: http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/0,5538,PB64-SUQ9NzMzJm5yPTc_3,00.html
BTW... I know I owe you guys some kind of real update about what's going on in my life at the moment, but I'm very busy at the moment... it will have to wait.
