The problem with rambling...
Jun. 4th, 2002 03:07 amis that you need some spare time to do it. And I don't have any right now. If I had, I would probably ramble about the mysterious appeal of Dr. Hannibal Lecter to the masses who flocked to see 'The Silence of the Lambs' and 'Hannibal' and who are buying the books. I'm currently reading 'Hannibal' for university, and the dominant feeling I get is being grossed out, which is not a feeling I usually like to pay for to get. I don't get the appeal of this book, or rather, I get it intellectually, but not emotionally. Emotionally it's a painful experience I'm protecting myself against by keeping the characters in the book at a safe distance, not idenfying or sympathizing with anybody...
