you learn to hate the song, yet you *can't stop singing* it. All. The. Time.

Note to self: when vidding again, use a song I don't like.

Then again, constantly hearing or singing a song I don't like for five days might have driven me insane a loooooong time ago.

Sorry... it wasn't my intention to raise anticipation levels this high.

It will take a while yet to finish the vid, I think. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'm currently sort of re-editing most of it - I have the right clips in roughly the right places, you see, but the timing's still off in many places, and there's ghost frames and other problems, too.

Sometimes, I sing a bad song that's stuck in my head, but that's on a rare occasion. Other times, it gets stuck for the time being.

I think it speaks to the state of my mind and tolerance for repeatetive behaviour that this doesn't happen to me. I can listen to a song repeatedly (and parts of it seemingly infinitely) and it doesn't bother me or affect how I feel about the song.

Hmm...not I haven't tried fourteen hours, but I have tried about ten plus on two consecutive days. Perhaps I just haven't reached the fourteen hour crunch period.

Let's get you started - "A says he's glad to be here," guitar, guitar, guitar, "B's chasing storms in the lightning state..."

Or was that just unnecessarily cruel...? ;)

You don't need to get me started.

By now, Tom's always with me anyway. *g*

Yes, we're on first-name terms now.

Thirty-five hours on six consecutive days and counting...

Wow, I kinda wish I'd decided to count how long it took me to make a vid now. The one I'm working on at the moment is taking me...well a really long time. But I'm taking a break of a day or two at the moment (unusual for me, and probably won't last) plus I'm limited to working during the evening (when I should be writing either the rpg game or my own stuff *sigh*).

The idea crowie has below might be something to do with it. Playing instruments does kinda numb you to repetition of a bar or two ad infinitium (or so it seems). I also agree that you're never going to be able to hear that song again without getting flashes of your vid.

Tom's my Harvey now, I think.

As Harveys go, I could do worse, I suppose. It could be the test card girl: http://www.allabouthmpf.com/too_much_tv.wmv

Vidding a song definately changes your relationship to it, it's not just hearing it over and over again, it's also having to analyse it and hear little bits and pieces of it over and OVER again when you're trying to get some particular clips right.

..and you'll never be able to hear it again without getting flashes of your vid in your mind.

However it does die down a little and you'll like the song again just fine in a few weeks/months (or atleast that happens to me) although I never start disliking the song, maybe playing an instrument and having to practice the same tunes over and over and over again has made me a little immune the whole thing. Don't know.. it's interesting though.
