Real Life/Real Death update

For those who've been wondering about where I've disappeared to so suddenly, the short version is: first I was busy excavating - perhaps a bit busier than I had expected to be, and too tired, most evenings, to do much on line. What little time I had apart from work I spent mostly with tiniago, and beebee852001, when she was available, and sometimes with the folks of the brumscifisoc. My days here in Birmingham are numbered, and the number is very small by now, so RL friends beat internet, for now. I'll be back in Frankfurt, and back to broadband ;-) in about three weeks, so never fear you will lose me.

In a less pleasant vein, there was also a sad reason for my more recent absence here: my grandma has died, and I've been busy organising a sudden trip to Germany for the funeral, and I've only just returned from that.

I'm fine, though, don't worry about me. I'll just continue to be absent here for a little longer, 'cause I'm rather busy still, both with fandom stuff and with RL stuff.

Hey Hmpf..so sorry bout your Gran (((hugs))). A sad note to reach the end of your stay on.

I was going to say, if you have the time, would you like to meet up, one evening, or on a weekend, before you go? We did say it would be nice to talk fic, etc, and it would! I just didn't fully realise how quickly your time here was coming to an end!

If you want to, then leave me a reply here, or on my lj. Or you can email me through the db. And obviously no probs at all if you can't do a meet up. I can imagine you'll have little time and lots to do between now and going back to Germany!

saying that I would like to meet up. Hey, at the moment, I could make it anytime, perhaps even several times, if you like! We just have to settle on a date and time really quickly, cause each day lost is, well, a day lost. ;-) I'll be leaving Birmingham even sooner than I will be leaving Britain, in about two weeks, because the tenancy on my house runs out at the end of the month and I also want to spend some time with Scapekid in Bath before I leave. So, I'll be leaving for Bath sometime by the end of the month. However, until then, I'm yours. (And tiniago's. And beebee852001's. *g* I think I'm busy tomorrow, but anytime after that, just drop me a note, and I'll meet you! Preferably, drop me a note today, or tomorrow at the latest, if we want to meet this week. Commitments are piling up fast.

Yay! And darn it, sorry, either didn't see your msg on my lj or it just didn't stick in my head!

I think the soonest I could meet up is realisitically next weekend...I have a class on Tues eve, dealine day on Wednesday (so best to not make plans for eve just in case), Thurs is a family birthday dinner....
...Friday DAY I have to go to Northamption for a *speed workshop* because I got caught speeding...did I tell you that? I can't recall! I was going to say that because it finishes at 5pm I could still meet you in the eve, but thinknig about it, traffic on a Fri can be very annoying and I probably couldn't bank on being back from Northampton at a specific time.

So maybe the weekend would be ok, as I know I won't get held up then? What do you think? Saturday or Sunday, day or eve? Heck, we could even go to the cinema if there's anything decent on. Or go get somethign to eat and chat over pizza/pasta/whatever. Or watch Farscape dvd's..hehe.

We could meet in Brum, or where you are, or you could come to Solihull. Well, anyway, we should probably decide on the day, then decide what to do!! lol

Or if you're not free at the weekend, Monday/Thursday/Friday of the next week would be cool too.

Just realised I'm running out of time even quicker than I thought... I only have a week and a day left. Arrgh. And I still don't have my stuff shipped!!!

Uhmm... Saturday or Sunday... dunno... do you have a phone number I could call? Find it easier to make such decisions after a talk on the phone, to coordinate plans... things are spinning out of control here, but I do want to meet you.

Hey... do you happen to have boxes that might be suitable for shipping some clothes and books? I desperately need some, and would be willing to buy them off you. I need only two.

But I don't trust airlines in general. Hate flying.

Anyway, budget airlines are only worthwhile if you can book a long time in advance; they get expensive if booked closer to the date of travel. And it lies in the nature of funerals that you can't book for them a long time in advance. Death is one of the things we can't time perfectly yet. ;-)

Sorry, can't help with the boxes. I have storage boxes only and they are all being used to store things in at present! I can only suggest buying them in a shop maybe a big post office, or definatly an big office supplies store.

btw did you get my email?
