Yet another AO3 question

Should I list under "characters" just the actual characters who appear as real people in the fic, or should I also list people who appear in memories and dreams? Because I have this fic in which all the Moya crew are dreaming/remembering stuff, and if I listed everybody who appeared in the dreams, that'd be Alex, Gilina, Scorpius, Lo'lann, Jothee, Nerri, Bishan... in addition to the Moya crew. But some of these people appear as little more than a dead body, or rather, the memory of a dead body.

(I've given myself licence to be fannish for an hour or two per day while I'm sick.)

My opinion? List the persons in the fic, not the characters they are thinking about.

Agreed -- if someone is searching by character, they're going to be disappointed by the dream-cameos. I tend to list the folks who are there more than the relative equivalent of two-seconds of screen time.
