Oh, yay!

I just realised: now that I know how to knit (I learned last weekend), I can ask my mother to buy me some hand-dyed yarn from etsy for my birthday! YAY!

(I've been hankering for some of that yarn since I first found it. Sadly, the batches I was particularly fond of are already sold... but there's still plenty of other beautiful stuff there. -- How many yards do you need for a decent scarf? 'cause for now, scarves are all I know how to make... *g*)

Scarves are all I know how to knit, too. I made one a few years back that was 100 stitches across (came out too wide, 50 would've been better - I may go back one day an unpick and reknit it because the wool is awesome). That took four balls of 100 grams, so possibly half that for one half the width. I know you asked for yards but...I have no idea how to translate that. Sorry.

Wolle Rödel

In der Töngesgasse (Nähe Hauptwache) ist ein Wolle Rödel. Ich weiß, das ist ein kommerzieller Handarbeitskramverkäufer, aber die Verkäufer(innen) können einen meist gut beraten - so war es zumindest bei der Filiale, die es in Offenbach gab, als ich klein war.

PS: ich kann leider nicht (mehr) stricken - war für mich immer ein Alptraum. Üb schön, warme Socken kann ich immer gut brauchen;-)
