For no particular reason at all, a bit of self-explication:
My lj activity runs in tides. There are phases of great activity interspersed with near-total absences (or sometimes even total absence). You met me during my most recent high tide. Now there's a necessary phase of low tide. (Damn, I miss the sea.)
I tend to get swallowed by LJ completely when I'm in one of my active phases. This pretty much kills the rest of my online life, and occasionally even impacts my 'Real Life'. So, I need phases of abstinence to catch up with Real Life, and to spend time at other online places than just lj - I can be found at http://www.sf-community.de a lot at the moment, for instance. (I'm a mod there, so, really, I should be present there a lot more regularly than I am, ideally.)
I *am* gearing up to get back into LJ sometime soon, catching up with people's posts of the last two months or so, but it's a slow process (due to various factors, most of them related to RL more than to online life).
Bottom lines:
1.) I'll be back, but
2.) expect me when you see me.

Public service announcement for German speakers:
http://www.allabouthmpf.com has been updated with German translations of my old Farscape fics 'A River In Egypt' and 'Rise And Shine', and my recent BSG ficlet 'Atlas'. All my German fics can now be found on this page: http://www.allabouthmpf.com/german_ff.htm.

No genuinely new fic at the moment, I'm afraid, but I'm working on it. :-)

PS: Thanks to everyone who posted birthday greetings to me - you all made me feel quite loved, and I would have replied if I had been at home for any extended periods of time around then. I was busy resurrecting my near-dead offline social life at the time, though, and
ankae was visiting from - literally - the other side of the globe for the first time in two and a half years, so I was spending a lot of time out in the so-called Real World, and didn't really get online a lot. And when I did get online again, I sort of forgot about my birthday and your greetings, because I have a weird relationship with my birthdays. I don't mind them at all - literally. I actually forgot it was my birthday a couple of times during this year's, so that every time someone congratulated me, my first reaction was something like 'Thanks, but... oh. I forgot.'
Needless to say, I didn't celebrate. I'm still thinking about having a belated party, though - after all, this was not just any old birthday! - if only the weather would clear up for a couple of weeks again. I couldn't very well celebrate at home (too little space), so we'd need to do it outside, and that's rather uncomfortable if it's raining almost constantly...

I think a flabbergastedly mindboggling Fingerspitzengefühl is the best you can have... 8-)
