hmpf: the ears of love (ears of love)

The first round of rewriting 'Sometimes We Believe' is done, but there'll be at least another round or two, I think. So far, it's going well. I didn't just cut stuff (not as much as I thought, so far - but that may change with the next go) but also added some, improved some dialogue (I think), and made it a good deal nastier just by adding a sentence or two I sort of shied away from back then. It's a Horsemen story, after all. It needs nastiness.

I also think I will update my old HL recs page fairly soon. I have three 'new' authors I want to rec there, but I want to read a bit more yet before I do the update.

(BTW: Got any really awesome Methos stories you want to rec me? Rec away!)

Ah, I'm all with the HL love right now, or rather, all with the HL fic love. First thing I did today was read two beautiful pieces by [livejournal.com profile] amonitrate which are among the very few stories about Alexa's death that I can really recommend. What am I saying - recommend? I *order* you to go and read them, right now! Perfectly in-character, non-sappy Methos, and a nice Joe in the second one, to boot. I like outside POV stories for Methos.

With a new verse the ancient rhyme:

The Heart of Light:

Gotta go - uni calls! (Ugh.)

What a warm endorsement! I hate the sap, glad the stories were sapless. Thank you!

Looking forward to your story...

Ah, don't expect too much.

It's just a rewrite of a really old fic - positively prehistoric, from August 2000. I still like it well enough to want to improve instead of delete it, but I doubt it will be anything hugely spectacular. I'm much happier with my recent fics and ideas. (Yes, I'm writing new fic, too.) Unfortunately I only have one recent Methos fic, and even that only if you extend 'recent' to mean the last three years or so. It's from 2003, I think. *g*

I intend to rewrite three of my earlier Methos fics - 'Epilogue', 'Sometimes We Believe' and 'Names' - because I like the ideas and parts of the writing in them well enough to want to fix what's wrong with them. So, should you have considered visiting my website, steer clear of those and wait for the better versions. Also steer clear of the horribly sappy first story I ever wrote! (Yes, I wrote a *sappy* Alexa story. I was young and needed the money. No, wait. I was young and an inexperienced writer. Yeah, that's the one.) Oh, and beware of the WiP, too. That *also* needs a major rewrite if I ever get back to it (jury's still out on whether I will). Heck, maybe I should take them all down until I'm done with my rewrites. *g* Then again, I hate when people take down all their stuff in a fit of 'gah, I hate my past!!!', so, maybe not. But I guess I should perhaps add a note about the rewriting to the index page.

Aaanyway. Sorry for the rambling reply. *g*

Well, everything I've posted lately was originally written around 2002-2004, so don't feel so bad! I've just never felt ready to post it, finally decided what the heck??
