Two reading recs
1.) Triangle and Robert:

Triangle and Robert chronicles the 'adventures' of Triangle and Robert the Rhombus, unwilling characters in a comic strip drawn by a very inept cartoonist (who is a character in his own cartoon). Other characters include Prozac the Bear (who is really Bear the Prozac), Cube, a chinese writing sign, Orpuddex the Pudding Watcher, Evil Telepathic Sheep, and The Author's Irrational Fear of Potatoes.
You could say Triangle and Robert is an ongoing experiment in violating every single rule of cartoon storytelling.
A good example of Triangle and Robert:

2.) Framed!!!:
http://damonk.com
Archives start here:
http://damonk.com/d/20001003.html
Framed!!! chronicles the 'adventures' of several people who are trapped in a comic strip by a vaguely sadistic cartoonist. Characters include Frank (noseless), Allison (nippleless), Derek (brainless), Mike (clothesless), Ron (hairless), the Frank of the Future, Dick (Nixon), Art (subjective, err, Garfunkel), Jackson Pollock, a potato named Harvey, and my favourite character, Sign, who is, well, a sign. A talking sign. With breasts. Well, sometimes.
The strip's pretty badly drawn, but the guy who's doing it has some strikingly original (not to mention funny!) ideas for formal experiments - choose-your-own-adventure strips, stop-motion-animation strips, strips that fork, strips that run in circles, strips that seem to go on forever, strips that go back to the past, etc.
A good example of Framed!!!:

Both of these strips are worth checking out if you like weird, sort of meta humour (Monty Python etc.) - Be sure to read through the archives!
