hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Jaeger)
hmpf ([personal profile] hmpf) wrote2004-02-22 03:47 pm

Now they're gone.

And I am depressed.

To pull myself out of that little bout of depression, a short recap of the last few days before I get back to my essay writing:

1.) Great to see my 'sisters' again, but they stayed shorter than I expected - only two full days. Dashan had to get back to work. This is, of course, a ploy of the Evil Real Life Monster, again.

2.) We found a nice comic shop in the city centre. And, oh joy, they usually stock Finder. It was out of stock, though.

3.) Met some British Scapers: Dan, EllieJane, ladydoor, Tommy_Crawling. All of them really nice, though Dan should come with subtitles. Will hopefully meet Dan and EllieJane again soon at Collectormania.

4.) We went to a café bar that seemed to be Star Trek central. Neelix and the Doctor from Voyager (ugh) had signed the wall.

5.) Went to Wales. Want to live there. Made plans to go hiking there with Scapekid sometime in the future.

6.) Scapekid redet wie ein Wasserfall. Says she. *g*

7.) Borrowed Neverwhere from Scapekid; looking forward to watching it.

8.) Jaeger is still frelling sexy. Admire the new icon.

And now, work. Will write some e-mails tonight, I promise.

Dan should come with subtitles

No kidding! Maybe we should suggest something to him? ~_^

Went to Wales. Want to live there.

Fantastic! Do so! Whereabouts did you go?

Borrowed Neverwhere from Scapekid

Take it you've not seen it before (d'uh!). I think it's ace, but that's just me. Hope you enjoy.

By the way, the pic of Jaeger...He looks like he's got a massive plaster stuck across his nose ~_^

Re: Wales:

Went to North Wales.

Re: Neverwhere:

I expect I will.

Re: Jaeger:

It's a tattoo/war paint thing. Usually it's on his wrists and/or hands, but it seems to wander. (He has this strange ability of healing very quickly, and his body seems to absorb tattoos, so he has to have new ones at regular intervals.)

And the thing he's holding in his left hand there...

is a spear, I think.

I know Wales is beautiful country, even if I've never actually been. One of the fictional versions of me was born outside Bangor Wales. I was actually born in Bangor Maine, but the fictional version of me is a 4,000 year old dragon who was mostly definitely born on the otherside of the Atlantic from me. *vbg*

Well...

[identity profile] hmpf.livejournal.com 2004-02-22 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Scapekid said that she has a friend who used to think that the Welsh phrase 'welcome to Wales' on the signs next to the road when you enter Wales meant 'beware of the dragon'... *g*

Some more pictures...

Going to Collectormania? Me too!

Let's meet!!!

[identity profile] hmpf.livejournal.com 2004-02-24 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's time, anyway! We've been *not* meeting way too long! *g*

Yes we have! Not sure what day(s) I'm going to be going there yet, but I'll be staying only about 15 miles down the road, so pretty convenient *g*

Hey, sister!

No cause for depression! ;o) Andura and me are safe at home, even the flight has been one of the roughest I ever had...
You live in a very fine community the in Britain and you seem to have a great time studying there. AND you'll do fine with it, I'm sure about that.

We'll meet up personally on TBFC and virtually even sooner I hope!

I know it's selfish...

[identity profile] hmpf.livejournal.com 2004-02-24 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
but I simply miss you. I'm glad you arrived safe and sound, though. Even if the flight was apparently exciting! (But probably not as exciting as John's flight through that wormhole...)
