hmpf: Cole and Ramse from the show not actually called "Splinter" (Default)

Time for an update; no time for an update...

Hey. Yeah, I'm still here, still alive, etc. And I haven't even been that busy, I must admit. I've been home for a week, and haven't managed to meet as many people as I wanted to, nor do any work for uni, nor write any e-mails, nor update my LJ. I can't seem to find the energy for anything. Well, I *could* find the energy to meet friends, I think, but everybody is busy, or sick, or both. So it looks like I will leave Germany without having met all the people I've been missing for three and a half months. :-(

What I have done is this:

On Saturday I met Scape Sister AnduraNova and Sky of http://www.farscape-germany.de and Jenny, another member of German FS fandom, and we had a very nice day. On Monday I met another friend and watched Dead Like Me, a show I immediately fell in love with. On Tuesday I met with a whole bunch of people from the http://www.tolkiengesellschaft.de (and some non-members) and watched all three parts of The Lord of the Rings in the cinema. More on that later. Need to see the movie another time to really comment on it.

What I should have done is this:

- I should have read essays on Vietnam cinema and Americanisation, and experimental archaeology.
- I should have started writing my own two essays on those subjects.
- I should have written Christmas cards (yeah, I know, I'm way, way late now).
- I should have prepared some application letters for various jobs.
- I should have caught up on everybody's LJ entries of the last three weeks or so.

And I would have liked to meet many people more than I managed to. But some nasty viruses are apparently on the loose at the moment, and quite a few of those people are sick. And the rest, like [Bad username or site: “dashan“ @ livejournal.com] are busy.
Frell.

Well, at least I've done some writing (worked on my old Terra Firma fic). And if I feel particularly crazy on Saturday, I might do some more, 'cause the Highlander Lyric Wheel is turning again... (Amand-r has a real talent for starting wheels at the most inconvenient times...) I'd really like to participate this time, but the deadline is the first week of January, and I don't see how I could finish a story until then. But hey, I *have* gotten a lot quicker.

Uhm... I'm writing this in my parents' bedroom, the PC being here, and my mom wants to sleep now, so I'll have to stop.

Things I need to write about soon:

- my weekends with Eledhwen and Scapekid
- my week with [Bad username or site: “ankae“ @ livejournal.com]
- Germany and its irrational fear of Islam (prompted by talking with an old good friend of mine who is a muslim and who told me about the hostility she faces on a daily basis today)

Still there?! Good! *smile*

Hey there! Are you aware...

No?! Really?!
I thought he wasn't at home when they tried to call him to ask if he liked to be in RotK. ;)

And is there the other darkhaired elf, too? You know, the one who sat next to him at Elrond's counsil. He was the more "agile" one who got up from his chair faster than Figgy. I'm sure he can be seen for a longer time. At least 1,7 sec. And who is - as far as I know - the only elf who has no fanclub at all. No websites in pink and filled with red jumping hearts with smiling faces. And no mailinglists. And I think he isn't enlisted in any slash pairing lists!
