I head over here, and read something like the interview linked here, and suddenly my heart's all aflutter again. I think this will go on my desktop now.

Kinda interesting how the interviewer says JS was the perfect interviewee. Older interviews often claim he has (or apparently used to have, anyway) a reputation for being difficult. I remember one interview which only started to really go anywhere once the interviewer, rather accidentally, hit on the topic of children/parenthood or something.

Somebody give that man an award already, btw. It's all kinds of ridiculous that he hasn't ever won anything yet.

I think he's had to do so many interviews in recent years that he's mellowed out, got more relaxed, and learned when to rein in his "I don't want to be here" vibe.

There *has* to be a certain practice effect after a while... *g*

(I really kind of hate that I still have such a crush on him. It's so frustratingly impossible - frustrating because he *is*, theoretically, real, there really is an actual John Simm out there. I'm always more comfortable with having serious crushes on entirely fictional people. This is why I mostly try to focus on Sam, and try to forget that I actually really like the guy who played him, as well. *sigh*)

Yes, yes, YESSSS to everything you've said! He's such an amazing person (I adore the fact that he's got so much love for his family) and a wonderful actor whose merits deserve to be recognised more.
