hmpf: more Life on Mars finale snark (yay animated)

Gah. I miss fandom.

But a very short trip into fandom territory today proved to me that I need to stay away from it: it gets me too excited, too distracted, too fucking inspired.

Can't. Write. Fic. Now.

Need to focus on thesis.

Arrrgh.

(Would you believe that going into fandom territory after an extended absence gives me actual butterflies in the stomach? Fandom, obviously, is my One True Love.

In keeping with that theme, I find myself unable to eat now. Too bloody excited. Yeeeeeesh.

Maybe some work will calm me down.)

Hello there! How're you doing?
I miss you, too! I've even started watching 'Farscape' in your honour. :)

Can't wait to be able to talk with you again soon (but work is taking up all my time these days - no time for fun). *sighs*

Hi!

I'm mostly fine, really - strangely elated, some of the time, actually, while at the same time (although that should seem impossible) kind of desperate. But, in the balance, I think I'm fine. Mindficcing like crazy, sleeping at insane times, and about to start on the real thesis writing phase (probably about a week from now, after I'm back from my trip to Britain). Not that I have any clear idea what to write about, but my advisor is confident I'll figure it out as I go. If only *I* had that kind of confidence...

The mindficcing is good for relaxation, but sometimes gives me writing urges that I then have to strangle, which is a bit frustrating.

Re: Farscape: have you reached the epic angst yet? It slowly and innoccuously starts to creep in near the middle of season one, gets more pronounced in the last quarter (or so) of the season, and grows to full force in the final four eps of the season. After which it's the All Angst, All the Time show. Though again, you have to wait a bit for the full-on *insanity* to set in (which happens around the middle of season two).

Remember to drop me a note if work should send you to Frankfurt again! I'm insanely busy myself, and will remain so for the next eleven months, mostly, but I'm sure I could spare a couple of hours to have lunch/dinner/a cup of tea with you. :-)

PS: Using theFarscape icon...

... which should make sense to you once/if you reach ep 4.13. I like it because it kinda makes sense for LoM-related writing, too. *g*

Re: Fics - I'm mindficcing like mad, too. Actually, I'm supposed to be writing something for the LoM Ficathon 2008, but I still haven't found any inspiring ideas to get me going. As usual, I'll end up doing everything in the last few days... *headdesk*

Re. Farscape - Until now I've only watched eps. 1.01-1.04, but I'm slowly catching up. I still haven't made up my mind about this show: I like Ben Browder physically and the story is interesting enough, but probably I'am still too biased against US TV shows to really enjoy the product as a whole. Anyway, I'm planning to see the whole 4 seasons before saying whether it works for me or not.

Re. Frankfurt - I don't think I'll come over to Germany anytime soon, at least not until the end of the year. In the meantime, I'm going to Spain again (Barcelona, in a couple of weeks) and to Amsterdam in September. Yay business trips! :)

Talk to you soon. Take care! ♥

Think of it as an Australian TV show. ;-) Which it is, really. Sort of. Only the writers and Ben Browder are American. Everyone else is Australian.

It's really a very untypical show - but after four eps, that may not be so noticeable yet.

You could write fic you know... *plays at being devil on shoulder*

Fandom. It will eat your brain. *g*

I'm in awe at your resolve in staying away as much as you do - I have nothing like that much willpower. I can only imagine how mindblowing it must be to wander in from time to time. Looking forward to seeing you around much more often, after the important stuff is taken care of! Good luck.
