Hi! :-D

Yeah, see, it's not just about guilt, with the e-mails. I also genuinely don't remember a lot of social stuff very well, so not having my last three months worth of mail means having no way to check if there was any Important Stuff I May Have Forgotten About But Need to Take Care of Now.

Also, there's job-search-related stuff on there that's kinda important.

Thankfully (-hopefully!-) the hard disk may still work. Or at least it still makes a 'normal' noise. So it may be possible to extract it and plug it into my regular computer, with an adapter, and rescue the data.

Even so, it's highly annoying to lose my laptop now - I have no money to spare at all, and that probably will not change for a few years. So that means a few years without a laptop. Not nice.

I hear you about LJ, btw. I'm kind of an LJ zombie, too. Meaning, I'm barely alive, in LJ terms.
