My bit of discussion here wasn't about the fic. The fic is great, and yes, that's what fic should do and all. I was just - perhaps not even from the fic itself, but from some of the comments - under the impression that this reading was essentially... *the* reading of the situation in the fandom. And that seemed a bit too definite to me, because I think it's a bit more ambiguous. (The fic's great, of course, for pointing out that ambiguity.)
